Important Notice
Before proceeding with your donation, please acknowledge the following:
Ontario election regulations:
- You must provide your name and address when giving a donation.
- Only individuals who are permanent residents of Ontario can make contributions to municipal campaigns. Businesses and trade unions are NOT permitted to contribute.
- The maximum contribution amount per individual is $1,200 to this campaign, and $5,000 to all campaigns in the municipality (City of Waterloo).
- Municipal campaign donations are NOT tax-deductible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can donate?
Only individuals who are permanent residents of Ontario may donate. We cannot accept donations from corporations, trade unions, or other organizations.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Political contributions in Ontario are NOT tax-deductible. However, we will still provide you with a receipt including the donation amount and date. The receipt will be sent to your email address.
How will my donation be used?
Your contribution supports campaign operations including community outreach, advertising, events, and building our campaign team. All funds are managed transparently and in compliance with Ontario election laws.
What is the donation limit?
Under Ontario election law, the sum of all of your contributions to any single campaign cannot exceed $1,200. Additionally, the sum of all of your contributions to all campaigns in a given jurisdiction cannot exceed $5,000.
When you donate, we will issue a receipt including the total amount you have contributed to Victoria's campaign so far.
Can I donate anonymously?
We appreciate your support! We must collect your information for compliance with election regulations. For questions about donation privacy, please contact us.
How can I volunteer instead?
Volunteers are the heart of our campaign! Please contact us directly, and someone from our team will reach out to discuss opportunities.
How do you use my personal information?
We use your personal information only to comply with election regulations. If your contributions total $100 or more, we must report your name and address on our campaign financial statement, which will be publicly available following the election.
We need to collect your information even for donations under $100, because if you make another donation in the future, we need to know if your total is over $100. If your total is under $100 at the end of the campaign period, we will delete your information and it will not be included in our campaign report.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties.
